Traditional and Classical Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine

For more than three decades, I have studied, practised and lived the principles of Traditional and Classical Chinese Medicine.

My work draws on ancient Chinese therapeutic practices including:

  • Acupuncture — the stimulation of specific points along the body’s energetic pathways with fine needles.
  • Dietotherapy — using food according to the principles of Chinese Medicine to support balance and wellbeing.
  • Moxibustion — the therapeutic application of warmth using moxa.
  • Tuina — traditional Chinese therapeutic bodywork used to address physical tension, restrictions and musculoskeletal imbalances.
  • Qi Gong — the cultivation, regulation and conscious direction of Qi through movement, breath and intention.
  • Qi Nei Zang — Taoist abdominal practices supporting the release of stagnation and emotional tension held in the body.
  • Wai Qi Liao Fa — traditional practices involving the transmission of Qi.

Today, these ancient practices are approached within the wider framework of Living Medicine — recognising the relationship between body, energy, emotions, environment and the way we live.
